Stock Albuterol in Iowa

In June 2022, Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa signed House File 771, which allows schools to stock and administer asthma rescue medication.

Iowa now joins over a dozen states that permit school nurses and trained personnel to administer asthma medication to a students in the event of respiratory distress. Stock albuterol advocates are closely watching Iowa and hoping that it joins Missouri and Illinois in funding this allowance and making schools for all students with asthma.
